On October 10th, 2016, KOSTAL Macedonia, already well known in the KOSTAL Group as KOMAK, officially started with production and celebrated this significant event in the recently renovated premises at former EMO Ohrid with an area of nearly 6.000 square meters.
KOSTAL Macedonia currently is equipped with modern technology for production with 48 employees and the number of employees will rise to 100 by the end of the year.
The owner and President of KOSTAL Group, Mr. Andreas Kostal, the Executive Vice President Mr. Christopher Sanders and the Vice President Operations Mr. Andreas Stoss from mother company Leopold Kostal GmbH & Co. KG, attended the Company's event. The Prime Minister of R. Macedonia, Mr. Emil Dimitriev, the representatives of state institutions, the town mayor of Ohrid, Mr. Nikola Bakracheski and many other representatives of local and regional authorities, also enriched this ceremony with their presence.
In his speech Mr. Andreas Kostal pointed out that favorable conditions attracted KOSTAL to Macedonia as well as the most positive business climate. He also showed his favor of the achievements that KOSTAL in Macedonia has achieved far.
Mr. Juri Maklakhov, the General Manager of KOSTAL Macedonia, clarified that the official start of production in KOMAK was only the beginning of the presence of KOSTAL Group in Macedonia. He also emphasized that besides adaptation of the plant KOSTAL Macedonia received valuable support by the KOSTAL Group having implemented the necessary professional trainings of employees both in Ireland and in Germany.
The Prime Minister of R. Macedonia, Mr. Emil Dimitriev, highlighted his pleasure how reliably and successfully the plans of KOSTAL company have been implemented in Macedonia step by step which allow this Start of Production ceremony to take place so soon.
After the official part of the ceremony all participants attended the company tour throughout the whole plant led by Mr. Juri Maklakhov, who extensively explained each department of the production area in KOMAK including injection molding, logistics, mechanical assembly and electronics production.
The SOP, start of production at KOSTAL Macedonia, was the first and very impressive event for all KOMAK team and all our guests surely will remember that wonderful day for a long time.
