The focus of the alignment effort was laid on conformity to Automotive SPICE level 3 as well as ISO 26262:2011 (road vehicles – functional Safety). The assessment was done by the accredited organisation SGS-TÜV Saar. On February 15th 2017 the KOSTAL Development Centre in Dortmund was presented with the certificate that confirms the conformity of KOSTAL’s development and supporting processes to ISO 26262:2011.
Harald Günther, Product Manager Automotive for Functional Safety at SGS-TÜV Saar, said: “During the modelling of the detailed processes the KOSTAL Company has always kept the focus on the practical application of these processes. The efficient integration of the safety relevant activities into the development process has been achieved very successfully.”
With the certified processes, KOSTAL owns a recognized procedure that fulfills the automotive industries code of practice, which is utilized by KOSTAL worldwide and can be tailored to individual needs of product development projects.
