An apprenticeship gives young people security and perspective, especially in these challenging times. For this reason, more than 30 partners from the Ennepe-Ruhr district, the city of Hagen and the Märkischer Kreis (including the Employers' Association of the Metal and Electrical Industry Lüdenscheid e.V.) joined forces to organise the digital event with the aim of bringing pupils together with companies from the region.
We at KOSTAL are also always on the lookout for new, inquisitive junior staff for our apprenticeships and combined study programmes and took the opportunity to come into contact with many pupils from a wide range of schools. Between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., the education team made themselves available for 1:1 conversations via chat or video call together with current joint degree students. In addition, presentations about the KOSTAL Group and training opportunities in our family-owned company took place in two 30-minute slots. Although not all technical "teething troubles" could be cleared up yet, the event was a complete success due to numerous interesting and informative conversations with the students.
Although the current pandemic will make it difficult to get to know KOSTAL personally on site for some time to come and some pupils will not graduate from school for a few years, the connection with the young people will nevertheless be strengthened by offering further insights into our company, e.g. through internships, in the coming years. Many thanks to the event community and all participants for a great day in terms of career orientation and networking between business and those interested in training!
