The Centre for the Development of Industrial Technology (CDTI), on behalf of the Ministry of Science and Innovation, agreed to fund the project "Engel e-Motion Injection Molding Machine” through a partially reimbursable grant.
The objective of the project is to improve injection molding technology in particular for an over-injection process to create two-component plastic parts with high aesthetic quality. This process will allow to achieve customized surface finishes, which is especially important for automotive applications.
The project has been carried out at the company's facilities of KOSTAL Electrica in the town of Sentmenat during the 2020-2021 period with a budget of 1.018.239 EUR. This funding is co-financed by CDTI and by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) through the R&D&I program to support company’s technology innovations.
