The Nio EL7 is presented in the March 9, 2023 issue of the German magazine AUTO BILD. A shift-by-wire (SbW) toogle switch developed by KOSTAL China is installed in the new SUV. KOSTAL is the sole supplier for this product.
The SbW control element is just one of several products that KOSTAL produces for NIO and the EL7. It is already used in several other series of the NIO brand (ES8, ES6, ET7, etc.).
The design as a toggle switch in combination with the integrated park switch enables intuitive operation with a clear design. The switch is used as an iconic control element and thus serves to reinforce the brand for the customer.
Founded in 2014, NIO is a Chinese start-up company based in Shanghai that specializes in electric car manufacturing.
